Dalla Rose is an ice cream shop was highly recommended by a fellow foodie, and we were delighted with their offerings.  This shop is definitely not your typical franchised ice cream place.  They label their flavors as chef-inspired, and after seeing the unique offerings, you will agree.   There seems to be an emphasis on quality ingredients, taste, and unique flavor choices.

Located in the trendy St. Henri district on Notre Dame Street, Dalla Rose is very close to other places we've featured in this website, such Rustique Pies, Adamo Pizzeria, and Arthur's Nosh Bar.   This unassuming store has been known to have lineups during the summer for its homemade, high quality ice creams.

On the day we visited, we sampled their Madagascar Vanilla ice cream, Corn ice cream, and Cantaloupe sorbet.   That's right, they had corn ice cream, and it was absolutely delicious !   You've got to try it if it's available on the day you visit.  It's SO good !   It's sweet with a textural difference.  Flavor offerings change with the season and availability of ingredients, so each visit Is guaranteed to be different.

Small containers of their chef-inspired ice creams can also be found in their freezer section, in case you'd like to bring some home.  They bake their own cookies, which they use to compose their signature ice cream sandwiches.  On the day we visited, there were delicious looking peanut butter, chocolate chip, and coconut cookies.

There's seating along the big storefront window that looks onto the street, and there's also a beautiful sidewalk terrace area just outside the store.  You can also cross the street to a small park.   The store is small but bright, and the service is quick and friendly.

The décor may be simple, but the quality and purity in taste of the product will have you returning for more.   Who wants to wait till summer for delicious ice cream ?   The next time you're in the area, come by to Dalla Rose for dessert.
