Puffed pastry (pistachio or strawberry) -- like eating a cloud !
This beautiful pastry store is our favorite spot for dessert and coffee, no matter the time of day or where we're coming from. We go weekly for their fresh & perfect croissants.
Conveniently located in a strip mall on L'Acadie Boulevard, across from the Marché Centrale, it has a parking lot in front as well as ample street parking on the side streets. Located right next door to the Chinese restaurant, Maison Foo Lam, and just a block away from a great Vietnamese restaurant, Pho Mymy, it can also be a great place for an after-meal dessert.

The bakery is bright and welcoming, with beautiful display counters for their baked goods, gelatos, cakes, breads, and French pastries. You can purchase the items to go, or eat them onsite at a table of your choice. The dining area is roomy, with lots of well-spaced tables and booths. They serve hot meals as well.

Their espressos are rich and strong, and there's also a large variety of teas to choose from. The owner, Olivier, is a native of France, and his staff are always friendly, especially Maria and Karim. They totally understand when you take long to decide on which dessert to choose. There's just so much to choose from, and all so delicious.

Of the many desserts we've tried here, these are a few of our favorites :

-
Allumette (with strawberries) : this super light and flaky pastry sandwiches sweet, fresh strawberries in whipped cream (messy and heavenly !)

-
Allumette (with pistachio) : light and flaky pastry, filled with whipped cream, and rimmed with finely crushed pistachio

-
Mille Feuille : true to a Parisian mille feuille, this pastry does not have 2 layers, nor the typical streaked chocolate on top of the icing sugar topping (just plain white icing sugar on top of a flaky single layer of pastry, filled with pastry cream)

-
Foret Blanche cake slice : delicious, moist 2-layered vanilla cake with a layer of assorted fruit and whipped cream

-
Apple Turnover : flaky and light, yet buttery rich, this pastry is filled with homemade apple filling (deceivingly simple, yet decadent)

We highly recommend this place. It's a great place for couples, families, and out-of-town visitors who want to try some real French pastry. Try this place out. Your scale might not be pleased, but you sure will be.
