Pho noodles are a good quick meal, with a broth that is full of nutrients.  Pho Mymy is one of those restaurants that have been recognized as having one of Montreal's best pho noodles.  Just read some of the reviews that are out on social media.  Due to its popularity, there are now a few locations throughout Montreal and Laval.

This small unassuming restaurant is located in a small mall on L'Acadie Boulevard, about a block away from Cote Vertu.  It is right across the street from Costco at the Marché Centrale.  There's parking in front and on the side street.  Tables are readily equipped with chopsticks, soup spoons, and a variety of hot sauces and chili pastes.

At certain times of the day, it can be quite busy, but tables clear up pretty quickly.  On rainy chilly days, or cold winter days, it's not uncommon for the restaurant to be more full.  The soups are warm, filling, and healing.

You can order the fresh spring rolls, or the deep fried Imperial rolls as appetizers.   Each are full of delicious ingredients, and each are served with their own dipping sauces.

The big decision will be to order either the famous Pho, or go for the grilled meat platters.   Each are highly recommended -- you can't go wrong.   The Pho comes in 3 sizes (small, large, and extra large), and can have a multitude of ingredients.   The permutations are endless !   All Pho noodles are served with a plate of fresh aromatic thai basil, bean sprouts, red chili peppers, lime wedges, and a lemony herb grass.

Being regulars, we usually go for the all-dressed version (#7).  The all-dressed version has beef meatballs, pieces of beef flank, slices of thinly cut rare beef, tripe, and soft tendon.  Of course, for those who are less adventurous, you can order the #10 which is just the rare beef and the well-done beef flank.

When the hot steaming bowl arrives, the aroma is amazing.   One taste of the broth, and all your problems and ills vanish.  Just push down on the slices of rare beef into the hot broth, like a fondue, and they'll be cooked in a minute.  I like to add some bean sprouts, thai basil leaves, and some freshly squeezed lime juice.  Others load up with chili pastes, and/or hoisin sauce.  The amount of meat in the soup is impressive.

Once you've eaten the last noodle, and scooped out the last piece of meat, there are some dessert items to end the meal.   We usually have the Cafe Sua Da, which is a delicious cup of strong iced coffee, sweetened with condensed milk.   Served with ice, it is a delicious way to end the meal.

There's also the 3 Colour Dessert.   A parfait glass is filled with sweetened coconut milk, and a layer of red beans is put at the bottom.   A layer of yellow mung beans is then added, followed by a layer of green tapioca strips.  You can scoop the ingredients with a spoon, drink it with a straw, or any combination to finish the dessert. The textures and tastes are unique, delicious, and totally addictive.

If a coffee/tea and dessert are what you crave instead, there's also a great dessert place just a block away, Cremino.

Definitely give Pho Mymy a try.  You'll see what all the fuss is about.
