We’re not big meateaters, but every now and then, the carnivore in us awakens and we need some ribs! Whenever that urge hits, we run to Rubs. There are currently 2 locations in Montreal (one on The Main, and the other in Laval). We've been to both, and they're equally delicious and identical in quality.

This restaurant serves up some great smoked meats : ribs, pulled pork, brisket, fried chicken, and all the fixings. There’s a big bar area, which makes it a great place to meet, for dinner or after work. The Laval restaurant has a big dining area, with many sections (some with booths, and others with tables).
The smell of smoky wood is heavenly when you first walk in. The aroma of the special Quebec sugar maple wood that they use is enticing, and fills you with anticipation. The décor is western in influence, with lots of wood and cowboy memorabilia. The bar area is more in a sports theme, with flags and sweaters from many teams.
The menu is vast, ranging from appetizers to salads to burgers and sandwiches. There’s mac and cheese, smoked beans, sweet potato fries, and blooming onions. The chicken is fabulous at this restaurant. They’ve gone and smoked their chicken, so you can get a smoked chicken leg or breast platter. Of course, every good bar and BBQ joint has wings – and theirs are huge.
We love their famous Fried Chicken and Waffle plate, which is 3 pieces of juicy chicken served with Belgian waffles and topped with a Jack Daniels maple syrup. It comes with fries and a choice of one of their yummy sides. This meal is so good, you might just forget about the beef and pork dishes !
However, if you want some meat, try a ½ rack of their St. Louis ribs. You get 6 ample smoked pork ribs, and a choice of two of the sides. Marinated in their smoky, sweet sauce and cooked slowly to perfection, these ribs are smoky, tender, and sinfully delicious !
There’s also the smoked Beef Ribs, if you’re really feeling like a caveman. These ribs are huge and meaty, yet so tender and finger-licking good. The smoked Beef Brisket is tender, too. For those who can’t choose, there are even platters that combine their chicken, ribs, and pulled pork servings.
If you’ve got any room left in your stomach, for dessert, there’s key lime pie in a mason jar. It’s just enough tartness and sweetness to finish off your meal experience.
Check the website often, as they have many special deals. When we went, they were offering an all-you-can-eat ribs special for $20 on Sundays from 11:30-5:00. Just roll yourself out when you’re done.
