This cozy Italian restaurant is a West Island secret that deserves to be discovered.   Located on St. Jean Boulevard in a small strip mall, the brother and sister team serves up homemade Italian dishes that are authentic and filling.   It’s a great alternative for those nights when you don’t want to go into town or into Little Italy.

The restaurant is very nicely decorated, modern yet classic, and can be a very nice place for a romantic dinner or for a group celebration.  They’ve got it all :  a bar area where you can eat and watch the game, and a dining area with enough tables to cater to the many customers that come in.   Although it is not a big restaurant, the many tables are well-spaced, and you never feel confined.  We’ve also noticed that there is a brisk takeout service as well.

On the many occasions that we’ve visited, we usually order the deep-fried calamari as our appetizer.  The amount of calamari is just right for sharing, and the marinara sauce that accompanies this dish is outstanding.   We know of people who have tried to get the recipe, but without success.  It’s so good that we hang onto it to accompany our main entrées.

Their salads are plentiful, and light eaters can definitely split a salad.  All their veal dishes are great.  They will keep you coming back !   The veal cutlets are pounded thin, lightly breaded, and cooked to perfection.  There are several kinds of sauces that can accompany the veal, and you can even specify the type of pasta and sauce that you’d like.  They pride themselves in their homemade pasta and sauces, so any choice is a good choice.   Try the “Marco” sauce, named after one of the owners.  It’s a tasty tomato sauce with a bit of kick.

It’s a great little place for spoiling yourself, or for celebrating with loved ones.   The atmosphere is good, the staff is friendly, and the food is fantastic.
