If you like superb fresh fish or seafood, and you don’t mind if the tables don’t have white tablecloths on them, this is THE restaurant for you.  Everyone who we’ve ever sent here loved the food, the place, and the prices.  We can't recommend this place enough.

 

This Mediterranean fish restaurant has 3 locations in Montreal, and even one in Ottawa.  The newest location just opened on Langelier Boulevard in the St. Leonard area.

 

Our favorite location is on Cote des Neiges Road, facing the McDonald's at the corner of Linton.  The large windows display the customers inside, and provides good lighting for the dining room.  The décor is simple, but the place is clean and roomy.   There are plenty of tables to accommodate any number of people.  Parking is on the street.   

 

At the back of the restaurant is the fresh fish and kitchen area.  When you first walk into the restaurant, walk directly to the fresh fish/seafood section at the back of the restaurant.  Don’t wait for someone to assign you a table, you don't get a table until you've ordered your food at the fish section.  

 

At the back, choose from a wide variety of fish and seafood.  Choose what you’d like and specify how you’d like it to be cooked (grilled, deepfried, etc.)   You can also order your sides at that time.   There is a tasty rice dish, or steamed vegetables in herb butter, French fries, and an amazing green salad.   They all come in medium or large portions.

 

The green salad is delicious, and a wonderful way to start the meal.  The lettuce is crisp, and the dressing is savory, and not too sour.

 

If you come here, you MUST order the lemon garlic shrimp.  Specify how much shrimp you’d like (1/2 pound, 1 pound, etc.), and they’ll cook that shrimp in the most delicious garlic and herb butter you’ve ever tasted.  Make sure to hang on to the herb oil on the plate -- it goes perfectly with some rice.  This dish keeps us returning each and every time.

 

Not to be missed is the fresh octopus.  They are the moist tender morsels you will ever have anywhere !    Restaurants in Greece couldn't hold a candle to the octopus served here.  There’s also huge calamari rings that can be deep fried or cooked in the herb butter, and are just as juicy and tender. 

 

Last but not least, there is the fish.  Select from the huge variety, and ask for the fish to be grilled.  What you’ll get is the ENTIRE fish on the plate, head and all.  We’ve never had a problem deboning and serving the fish, but for those who are squeamish, you can try asking if they’ll provide that service for you.  There are also individual fish fillets that can be purchased, for those who feel uncomfortable with the fish looking back at you.

 

This is one restaurant that we highly recommend.  The service is quick and efficient, and the food is amazing.  If you love fresh fish or seafood, this is definitely the place to try.   You won't regret it.
