This trendy eatery now has a few locations throughout Montreal, and even offers an exclusively vegetarian location on St. André Street downtown.

Our favorite location is the Mile End one, located at the corner of Bernard and Waverly.   Each location is tastefully decorated to suit its neighborhood with historic furnishings.  Antique chandeliers and mirrors hang on the walls, alongside old portraits, creating a unique warm atmosphere.  Everything is respectful to the past, yet made for the crowds of today.

They open early in the morning, and run late into the night, making it great for brunch or a late night drink or snack.  Check out their cocktails, in particular, their Caesars.   Instead of boring celery stalks, you can add sliders, spring rolls, shrimp, jalapeno poppers.   A meal on a drink -- the perfect 5 a 7 combination.

We've been there for brunch, and have had the Mixed Greens with Eggs. 2 eggs are served the way you'd like, along with kale and spinach, sauteed with cherry tomatoes, onions, garlic, ginger, and lemon.  There are breakfast poutines, fried chicken with French toast, for some unique combinations.  The menu seems to change frequently, according to the season or availability of produce, so you never eat the same thing twice.

A recent visit to the Mile End location presented the Deluxe Vegé, which was a huge platter of delicious (yes, delicious) no-meat breakfast.  Never having eaten any vegetarian food, we decided to give it a try.  It was absolutely astounding !   The flavours and textures were amazing.  There were cherry tomatoes sautéed with onions and baby spinach, alongside a portion of diced tofu pieces tossed with onions, corn, black beans, and peppers.  These were accompanied by 2 vegetarian sausages which seemed to be made from beans and savory spices.  The surprise of the whole platter was the huge amount of poutine (!), which was delicious.

Their menu changes often, and the food we've ordered have always been fresh and delicious.  Reasonably priced, open till late for drinks or supper, and with a menu that's ever changing, it's a great place to keep in your reportoire.
