If you're craving pizza, Il Focolaio is the place to go.   This pizzeria is located at Philips Square in downtown Montreal.  Its location makes it very convenient for those who work downtown, as well as for those out for a day of shopping or sightseeing.  

 

In the summer, there's a nice covered terrace that extends to the sidewalk.  The dining room inside is roomy and nicely decorated.   At the back of the restaurant is the wood oven that gives their pizza that extra smoky taste, and they proudly display it to patrons.

 

Of the 80 (yes, 80) types of pizza, our favourites are : 

• #67    Funginata      :    Oyster mushrooms, garlic, cheese, and jalapeno peppers

• #57    Al Tonno        :    Tuna, fresh tomatoes, garlic, oregano, onions, cheese

• #72    Rapini            :    Rapini sauteed in garlic, fresh tomatoes, Italian sausage, mozzarella

• #48    Spinanchois   :    Spinach, anchovies, garlic, cheese, and mushrooms 

 

There are also salads, calzones, and submarine sandwiches.
