With 2 locations in Montreal, we prefer the recently opened Centropolis mall location in Laval.  This Mexican restaurant is a great place for drinks, lunch, or dinner.  The restaurant can accommodate large numbers of people, and has a really big bar area.  The place has a lively vibe, and the decor is full of fun Mexican items.     

 

The menu offers something for every appetite.   There are soups, salads, tacos, enchiladas, burritos, and fajitas. There's a huge appetizer and nacho section that's perfect for sharing.  There are specials every night of the week, so check it out.

We were big fans of tacos, so we were ecstatic to see 7 types of tacos offered in their menu.  Each platter comes with either 2 or 3 tacos, and includes a portion of red rice.  We prefer the soft tortillas, but they offer hard corn shells, too.  The prices are a bit more than the other restaurants featured in our Mexican section, but the tacos are very delicious and substantial.

Here are a few items from their vast menu that we’ve ordered :

• El Sexo tacos          -          pulled chicken tacos, avocado, onions, Monterrey Jack cheese, and lettuce                                                 -          not sure how or why it got its name...

• Blue Demon tacos  -          deep fried shrimp sauteed in tequila sauce, served with avocado, pickled red                                                       cabbage, and a chipotle crema             

                                       -          the shrimp are big and the crema has just enough kick to it

• El Samourai tacos  -          these tacos are absolutely delicious  

                                       -          super fresh red tuna, seared ever so slightly, with wasabi mayo, lettuce, avocado,                                                        black beans, and corn salsa, topped with a bit of fish roe                                                                                    -          if you like tuna tataki, these tacos are perfect for you

To end the meal, we highly recommend the Churros and Nutella.  This is a match made in heaven !   The churros arrive, warm and coated with cinnamon sugar, and they're served with a Nutella dip.  It's sweet, it's crunchy, and you end up with Nutella all over your fingers.

This place is great for groups as well as for romantic dinners.  The location offers lots of parking, and the atmosphere and food are addictive.   Give these hombres a try.
